Immediate Requirements 

RELIABILTY ENGINEER - I (Junior Level) Masters / Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, or equivalent
Sun Smart Systems Pvt Ltd (https://www.sunsmartsystems.in) is seeking experienced Reliability Engineers (Junior Level) to join our team.

Project Reporting : Project Systems Assurance Manager
Working hours : IST working hours
Work location : Coimbatore – TN – WFO Only

Responsibilities:

• Perform and manage systematic systems assurance tasks and activities to meet the requirements on Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and System Safety    (RAMS) for the project.
• Conduct workshops / assessments and support risk-based systems assurance processes.
• Assess and develop documentations required to support the Manage all the risk assessment activities of the project to ensure that potential hazards are       identified, adequately assessed and mitigated.
• Develop In-depth knowledge of safety regulations such as the Railway Safety Act (RSA), ISO 9001 for railway safety management systems, and international     standards like IEC 61508 (Functional Safety).
• Ability to assess risks, develop safety cases, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in analyzing data from various railway assets (e.g., train diagnostics, track sensors, signaling systems).
• Experience with condition-based monitoring (CBM) and predictive maintenance tools to reduce downtime.
• Familiarity with railway-specific performance metrics like train punctuality, mean time between failures (MTBF), and mean time to repair (MTTR).
• Provide support and guidance to Assurance and Engineering Safety Management activities, supplying relevant material for verification, validation, compliance and acceptance.
• Support development of management plans, reports, logs and other documentation as required for the project.
• Follow the life cycle assurance process and execute tasks supporting various stages of design and implementation.
• Support other systems engineering and assurance related submissions and analyses

Mandatory Skills:

Knowledge in performing RAM and System Safety assessments in projects.
• Good understanding in system safety and reliability engineering and assurance processes, standards, and best practices, such as the CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128 & EN 50129, AREMA, FRA & FTA Regulations (CFR Rule49), MIL-STD-882C, AAR Locomotive, Braking & Signaling Rules, IEEE 1483, DO-1788 or equivalent.
• Sound knowledge in Safety Engineering – PSP, PHA, SSRS, SIL, Hazard log / SCIL, O&SHA, FTA.
• Knowledge in Reliability & Safety Analysis Tools – ReliaSoft, RAM Commander, ISOgraph, FaultTree.
• Knowledge in Data Analysis Tools: MATLAB, R, Python (for reliability and maintenance analysis).
• Good understanding in condition Monitoring Tools: Trend analysis, vibration analysis systems, thermal cameras, ultrasound sensors.
• Sound knowledge in Railway Asset Management Tools: SAP PM, Maximo, CMMS systems
• Good communication skills, including technical writing and non-technical presentations.
• Basic experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle of safety critical and high reliability systems.

Desired skills:
• Knowledge in design, build, test and commissioning, and/or maintenance in rail industry.
• Any experience in Railway domain will be desired.
• Good understanding in performing RAMS activities for rail infrastructure and rolling stock projects.
• Sound knowledge in using software tools for performing quantitative RAM and Safety assessments. Position
